Summer non-UC Merced Undergraduate Research Fellowship

One of the key components of the program is a 9-week long summer undergraduate research program that recruits students from local community colleges and nearby California State University (CSU) campuses. Students will work side by side with UC Merced graduate students and faculty. Through structured mentoring and intensive hands-on training, students in the program will gain the experimental skills that allow them to effectively and safely work in a laboratory setting. This will be complemented by a weekly seminar series that introduces students to different research topics conducted in MACES and at NASA. Upon completion, students will be able to demonstrate basic knowledge of their research area and to summarize their own research.  

Eligibility Criteria:
  o   Full-time non-UC Merced undergraduate student
  o   At least two semesters of college experience
  o   GPA 3.0 or above
  o   US Citizen or Permanent Residence Status
